SSIS is a small independant home inspection firm serving Maryland (Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's counties) and the District of Columbia. SSIS provides thorough inspections and complete (both written and digital picture) documentation. We work hard to get you a complete evaluation of your home's condition so that you and your realtor can determine your appropriate course of action. Several realtors have requested SSIS to inspect the homes that they are considering purchasing.
SSIS is the only home inspection company that provides Level 2* chimney and fireplace inspections. Level 2 inspections include a video scan of your chimney and are required "upon sale or transfer of the property" by the NFPA 211, Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances, (2006 edition, pg. 211-45, table 14.3.1). SSIS provides radon and mold testing services.
We almost always go on roofs (unless in doing so we would compromise our safety or your roof (slate, etc.).
We are fully accredited, licensed and insured. (ASHI, FIRE-Certified, IACFI, CSIA, and more).
* For an additional $100 include a Level 2 chimney inspection with your home inspection. This special price is only offered in conjunction with home inspections.
